Marked as the first major internal engagement for 2021, UAS kicked off with a singing competition that pitted some of the company’s best vocalists. This was a special event as both the Pasig and Clark offices had representatives to battle for the crown as the first “UAS: Battle of the Voices” champion.
The event was graciously supported by distributors which helped elevate the competition and with the vocalists choosing their own pieces and performing it for the judges and the entire UAS Family, it was a celebration despite being physically distant from each other. Thankfully, Cisco Webex was a very stable platform and despite constant screen-sharing and open cameras from the participants and judges as viewed by over 100 employees, no hiccups were experienced.
What started with over 20 auditions was eventually narrowed down to 14 hopefuls before the Top 4 were picked. In the final, UAS went all out Sassa Dagdag, a finalist in The Voice Kids, was chosen to be one of the guest judges in the competition.
In the end, UAS Pasig’s Karlette Espinosa was crowned the champion after jaw-dropping performances in all stages of the competition. No one went home sad, as competitors brought home prizes and the entire UAS Family is now waiting for what’s next.
